3rd EU-China Civil Society Dialogue on Informal Work and Migration held in Bonn

From 12th -15th of November, CANGO, as an important project partner from China, was invited to attend the 3rd EU-China Civil Society Dialogue on Informal Work and Migration in Bonn, Germany. Project Coordinator Wang Lu attended the conference organized by the German Asia Foundation and the Institute for Civil Society of Sun Yat-Sen University.

Global Perspective 2011 – The International CSO Leaders’ Forum in Berlin

From 9th-11th of November, CANGO’s project coordinator Wang Lu attended the annual International CSO Leaders’ Forum organized by the Berlin Civil Society Center. This year’s “Global Perspective 2011” concentrated on two main topics: how ICSOs can contribute to the achievements of the MDGs, and how the global shift in economic and political power affects ICSOs?

Senimar and thematic conference of

On October 24th to November 4th, CANGO delegation, including ZHAO Daxing, WANG Xiangyi, LOU Han, TAO Qiran, XU Xiaoxiao, and government and NGO representatives from Jiamusi city and Ewenke banner, went to Uzbekistan for participating in the seminar and conference of “women empowerment” which is an activity of “multi local women’s partnership against poverty” project.

The Final Workshop of “Social Policy Advocacy on Environment and Health” Project

On September 22-23, 2011, the final workshop of the project “Social Policy Advocacy on Environment and Health”, co-organized by the China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO)and the American Bar Association (ABA) was held in Beijing.

Brief News

Otc.6th, Mr.Zhao Daxing attended the International Dialogue, The role of state enterprises and private ones in maintaining the growth in the context of the financial crisis which was convened in Hanoi. The dialogue shared views and points on state and private enterprises in economy development and so on.

Workplace Diversity Workshop in Beijing

As one of the serial salons by CANGO’s “NGO-Corporate Partnership for Sustainable Development” project, the event focused on diversity and equality in workplaces for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) groups. Xu Xiaoxiao from CANGO’s project management department attended this activity.

2011 International Conference on Aid and Development Effectiveness

On September 1-2, 2011, the “2011 International Conference on Aid and Development Effectiveness” was held in Seoul, South Korea. The event was organized by the Asia Foundation Korea office, the Korea Civil Society Forum on International Development Cooperation (KoFID), the Korea NGO Council for Overseas Cooperation (KCOC), and Global Call to Action against Poverty (GCAP) Korea. In total 72 representatives from45 NGOs and academic institutes of 13 countries attended this conference

On September 1, 2011, Haoming Huang was invited to the "China Charity Sector Research and Practice Seminar". The experts expressed their personal opinion on the sector's basic charitable status and practice both on domestic and foreign charity organizations.

On 10th August, Huang Haoming and Wang Lu attended the roundtable “Promoting Peasants’ Participation in Sustainable Rural Community Development”, organized by Badi Foundation Beijing Representative Office.

China-EU Civil Society Dialogue held in Ningbo

From 13-15, July,2011, a EU-China dialogue on the topic of "Climate Change and Sustainable Consumption and Production" was successfully held in Ningbo at the China campus of the University of Nottignham. This event also marked the official beginning and launch of the new "China-EU Civil Society Dialogue", a three-year programme funded by the European Union.

CANGO and Badi Foundation Signed Special Cooperation Agreement on NGO Capacity Building

On 20th July 2011, CANGO and Badi Foundation signed a special cooperation agreement on NGO capacity building in Beijing. Both CANGO and Badi Foundation have long dedicated themselves to promote NGO capacity building in China, thus are very experienced in this field.
