August 26 – 27, 2010 the Third Forum on Innovation and Development of China Social Organizations was held in Yinchuan, Ningxia Autonomous Region. It was part of the EU-China and UNDP Program on Governance for Equitable Development.

On August 18, 2010, the second meeting on NGOs’ participation in the Tianjin session was held at CANGO’s meeting room. 40 participants from NGOs and media joined the discussion. Mr. Lo Sze Ping, the China National Coordinator of GCCA acted as facilitator.

Under the umbrella of the Open Forum for CSO Development Effectiveness the China Association for NGO Cooperation, CANGO together with a core group of six other Civil Society Organizations hosted the “China Consultations on CSO Development Effectiveness” in Beijing from July 31 to August 02, 2010.

July 16-20, 2010 the team of the “China NGO connect” project met in Paris at the Internews Europe office to engage in detailed preparation of the project. Camille Bondois, Programme Manager of Internews Europe, hosted the meeting.

On July 05 and 06, 2010 the International Symposium “Chinese Women Organizing: Looking Back, looking forward” was held in Beijing. It was the follow up of the conference on “Women Organizing in China” held in Oxford in July 1999.

On June 18, 2010 a delegation from Japan visited CANGO to talk about CSR and sustainability in China. The delegation consisted of Ms. Yuri Usami of “Denso Corporation”, Mr. Takeshi Nozawa, Director of “EcoNetworks Co.” and Mr. Kazunori Kobayashi, Manager of “Japan for Sustainability”.

On the occasion of the recent UNFCCC climate change talks in Bonn, held from 30 May to 11 June 2010, more than 30 representatives from Chinese and European non-governmental organizations, scientific experts and other stakeholders involved in the UN climate talks discussed for one day their perspectives on climate change impacts, vulnerability and concrete cooperative action at the UN University Campus in Bonn.

In the framework of the project on the “Improvement of CANGO’s member service” which has been funded by the German Heinrich Boell Foundation since 2009, a workshop on “Gender and development” was held from June 01-03, 2010.

Following the activity in Xining, Qinghai Province in April the China Association for NGO Cooperation, CANGO held another CSR training in Lanzhou, Gansu province from May 12-14, 2010 titled “Promoting CSR in Western China”.

From April 21-23, 2010 the China Association for NGO Cooperation, CANGO held a training in Xining titled “Promoting CSR in Western China”.It was jointly organized with the Qinghai Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and the Qinghai International Center for Promotion of Economic Cooperation and financially supported by the German Heinrich Boell Foundation.

As part of the delegation of the German Minister of the Environment Dr. Norbert Roettgen on his visit to China, leading German environmental NGO representatives Klaus Milke (Germanwatch), Hubert Weiger (BUND) and Olaf Tschimpke (NABU) visited Beijing on the 7th and 8th of April.

On March 29-31, 2010, “2010 Water Future Conference” was held in Beijing, organized by Water Future Steering Committee and Pepperdine University. The theme of this conference was “Water and Action”.
